We’re right in the midst of the Autumn Racing Carnival and while the cooler weather may limit our fashion choices, there’s no reason we can’t take on the Autumn racing season with style.
Here we give you some of our best tips for Autumn racing fashion
1. Explore texture!
Taking into account the weather, the easiest way to be on top of your fashion game and stay warm is through exploring a range of textures – think leather, silk, mesh and even knitwear. Don’t be afraid to play around and mix textures together for a winning combination.
2. You don’t always have to wear the short dress.
Short dresses are great, don’t get me wrong. But it’s time to consider other styles to keep you warm for autumn racing. Think midi-length skirts or flared long-sleeves – both currently a big hit in the fashion world. Flared, tailored or even wide-length pants can also work if you’re more of a pants girl. Match your pants with a contrasting fabric and colour and voila – you’ve just gained fashion points.
3. Choose the right colours.
Neutrals will always work in autumn racing, but you never have to be boring! Try opting for cooler colours to give your look a dramatic winter feel. The best colours to go for are navy, maroon and if you’re bold enough – chocolate brown. Take this into account with your make-up too. A neutral outfit will always work best with a bold dark lip.
5. The headpiece.
Regardless of season, always choose the headpiece that suits your personality. While you should consider face shape and height, headpieces are there mostly to compliment your outfit so take note of what you will be wearing. Ensuring your headpiece is complimentary, comfortable and versatile is key – so you’re able to wear it again and again!
