Heather sources her materials from all around the world, but her products are made in her office in Sydney. She is a hands on designer who also heads up production and leads a tiny team of energiser bunnies that strive to make every headpiece perfect for you!
Does Heather McDowall have a physical store?
We are proud to say we are purely an online store, but stock many of our beautiful headpieces in boutiques all over Australia and New Zealand. Head to our Stockists page to find the closest store to you!
Can I come in to the Sydney Office and try headpieces on before I buy?
Of course you can! We have a range of samples available for you to try on. Please make sure you email us firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment first.
Can I place a custom made order?
We no longer offer custom made headpieces as we have focused on extending our range of headpieces and hats. We are pleased to now offer you a wide variety of styles to suit your personal look and occasion. Head to our Shop page to keep up to date wth our Bridal and Ready to Wear Collections
What is the size & fit of your headpieces?
All headpieces attached to a headband are a one size fits all.
The sizing for hats can be found in the product description. This will be referred to as the Crown measurement.

How long will it take to get my headpiece?
Express shipping- When you choose express delivery, we package and ship your item the same day. Only orders placed prior to 1pm are guaranteed next business day delivery to all Metro and selected rural areas. Otherwise delivery will be the following business day.
Free shipping- Orders will be packaged and shipped the following business day. Please check here for estimated delivery times.
Who do I contact if my delivery is urgent? Im worried it wont arrive to me in time.
No Stress- before placing your order please email firstname.lastname@example.org so we can work out the best delivery method for you. If your order is urgent we will ensure it is shipped immediately or work out an alternative so that your order will arrive to you on time. Talk to us first, there’s always a solution!
I have a special request for my order- Where do I write it?
When you come to the check out fill in the “Order Notes” section with anything important you need us to know. This is the first thing we check when we receive an order! We always send a confirmation of order received email and will liaise with you in regards to your request in the Notes section.
What Freight company do you use to ship online orders?
Fastway – For all major metro areas and selected rural areas.
Australia Post- For all other areas outside of the Fastway delivery Zone.
DHL- For all international orders
How can I track my item after it has been shipped?
Once your order has been processed a “shipment advice” email will be sent to you which will include tracking information for your parcel and estimated delivery date.
My Order hasn’t arrived – What do I do?
First of all- Chill. Everything will be ok.
Secondly go to your “shipment advice” email and click on the link provided there. This will inform you of the whereabouts of your package.
Please make sure you enter correct delivery details as once the order has been shipped we cannot amend or change. Incorrect details may cause delays to your order or incur additional charges of which Heather McDowall will accept no responsibility.

I received my headpiece and it is just not right for me. Can i return or exchange it?
We understand that once you receive your item it may not fit perfectly, or go with the outfit you had in mind.
To Return/Exchange you must either:
- Fill out the returns slip you received with your original package and include that together with the item in its ORIGINAL packaging. You have 14 days to do so.
- Log in to My Account This option is only available if you chose to “Set up Account” at checkout. After you have logged in click “Return Item” and follow the steps.
The item will not be eligible for return/exchange if the following apply:
- If the item is received after 14 days
- If there are visible signs of wear on the headpiece- Ie Makeup

Do I need to create an account?
You don’t need an account to return or exchange your item. The Account log in is there as an option to make your life easier should you wish to:
- Purchase another item without having to re-enter your details again
- Log back in to track your order or see order history
- Return/Exchange an item if your returns slip is missing.
When you make a purchase online, you have the option to check out as a guest or log in.
Where are these brands made?
All Edit brands are designed and manufactured in Australia.
Are returns and exchanges available for The EDIT items?
Yes, we do accept returns within a 14-day window from when the order was shipped.
Tags must be attached to the items for any returns of exchanges to be accepted.

How long are the shipping times for The EDIT items?
Shipping for items differs between designers and is dependent on the item and brands production scheduling.
Please refer to the brand specific shipping information listed in the production description underneath each item.
